Verification Information
Understanding the verification process, criteria, and what it means for your label.
What Verification Means
Verification is an optional service offered by the Record Label Registry that indicates a label's active presence has been reviewed and confirmed based on publicly available information. A verified label receives a verification badge displayed on its Registry profile.
The verification process is designed to help users of the Registry distinguish labels that have demonstrated a verifiable, active presence in the music industry from those that have only submitted registration information.
Verification status is valid for one year from the date of approval and may be renewed annually.
Verification Criteria
The verification review is based on publicly available information. The Registry evaluates the following criteria when reviewing a verification application:
DSP Presence
The label has releases distributed to major digital service providers such as Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL, Amazon Music, or similar platforms. The label name should appear as the credited label on at least one release.
Social Media Presence
The label maintains at least one active social media account (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) that is publicly accessible and identifiable as the label's official account.
Website
The label has a publicly accessible website or landing page. This may include a standalone website, a Linktree, a Bandcamp page, or similar web presence that is clearly associated with the label.
Catalog Proof
Evidence that the label has released or distributed music. Our automated catalog scanner can verify this by searching MusicBrainz and Genius for your releases and artist roster. Manual catalog evidence (DSP listings, Bandcamp releases) is also accepted.
Corporate Entity Filing
The label must have an active corporate entity filing (LLC, Corporation, S-Corp, Partnership, or similar) with a valid state of formation, filing number, and active status. This is part of the anti-fraud compliance scoring system that validates label legitimacy.
Anti-Fraud Compliance Score
Labels are evaluated across multiple compliance dimensions: corporate entity status, social media presence (minimum 3 platform links), DSP presence, website URL, and DDEX-compliant release metadata. Each check contributes to an overall compliance score that helps DSPs and partners assess label legitimacy.
Not all criteria must be met for verification. The review considers the overall presence and credibility of the label based on available information. However, corporate entity filing and social presence are strongly weighted in the compliance score. The Registry reserves the right to approve or deny verification applications at its discretion.
What Verification Does Not Mean
Important Disclaimers
Verification through the Record Label Registry is strictly an informational designation based on publicly available information. It is critical that all parties understand the following:
- Verification is not legal certification. It does not confirm legal ownership, business registration, trademark rights, or any form of legal standing.
- Verification does not involve legal document review. The Registry does not review business licenses, articles of incorporation, contracts, or any legal documentation.
- Verification does not constitute an endorsement. A verified badge does not imply that THRY ARCHIVE LLC endorses, recommends, or guarantees the label or its business practices.
- Verification does not guarantee accuracy of information. While the Registry reviews publicly available information, it cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of all claims made by the registrant.
- Verification is not a substitute for due diligence. Any party entering into a business relationship with a verified label should conduct their own independent verification and legal review.
