About the Record Label Registry
Understanding the purpose, scope, and operation of the Registry.
About the Registry
The Record Label Registry is the infrastructure layer for the recorded music industry. We provide a centralized, publicly accessible registry where labels register, verify their legitimacy, prove master rights ownership, and protect their catalogs from unauthorized AI training.
The Registry serves artists, distributors, digital service providers, music supervisors, and licensing teams. Each registered label receives a unique Registry ID, a public profile, and access to tools including automated catalog scanning, DDEX compliance validation, songwriter split verification, anti-fraud compliance checks, Digital Identity Stamps, and the AI Training Opt-Out Ledger.
The Registry is available at recordlabelregistry.com and is operated and maintained by THRY ARCHIVE LLC.
Our Mission
The mission of the Record Label Registry is to bring transparency, verification, and trust to the identification of record labels and ownership of master recordings across the music industry.
With AI-generated music flooding streaming platforms and fake digital labels gaming distribution systems, the industry needs a reliable way to verify that a label is a legitimate legal entity with real human artists. The Registry acts as that verification layer — a trusted source of truth that DSPs, music supervisors, and licensing teams can query to confirm label legitimacy, master rights ownership, and catalog provenance.
We also provide indie labels with tools that major registries are too slow to implement: an AI Training Opt-Out Ledger for catalogs, DDEX compliance gating for releases, and a sync licensing marketplace that maps out who actually owns masters and can clear them instantly.
