Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of the Record Label Registry ("the Service") operated by THRY ARCHIVE LLC. This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Acceptable Use

The Service is intended for the registration and identification of legitimate record labels and music-related entities. Acceptable use of the Service includes:

  • Registering a record label that you own, operate, or are authorized to represent.
  • Providing accurate, truthful, and current information about your label.
  • Maintaining and updating your label information as changes occur.
  • Searching the public directory for informational purposes.
  • Applying for verification in good faith with accurate supporting information.
  • Using embed widgets, verification badges, and Registry IDs in accordance with their intended purpose.
  • Contacting THRY ARCHIVE LLC with legitimate inquiries, feedback, or reports.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not submit or associate any of the following with your Registry profile or account:

  • False, misleading, or fraudulent information about your label, its ownership, or its operations.
  • Content that infringes upon the trademark, copyright, or intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • Labels or content that promote illegal activity, violence, hate speech, or discrimination.
  • Obscene, defamatory, or harassing content in label descriptions or profile information.
  • Spam, advertising, or promotional content unrelated to the label being registered.
  • Malicious links, malware, or any content intended to compromise the security of the Service or its users.
  • Impersonation of another label, entity, or individual.

3. Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are prohibited when using the Service:

  • Registering labels in bulk without legitimate ownership or authority.
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent suspension or restrictions.
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts, data, or restricted areas of the Service.
  • Using automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access, collect, or extract data from the Service without prior written authorization.
  • Interfering with, disrupting, or degrading the performance of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Manipulating search rankings, verification status, or other features of the Service through fraudulent means.
  • Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users, registrants, or THRY ARCHIVE LLC staff.
  • Misrepresenting the nature of the Registry (e.g., claiming it is a government service) or your relationship with THRY ARCHIVE LLC.
  • Using Registry verification badges, certificates, or embed widgets in a misleading manner that suggests government endorsement or legal certification.

4. Consequences of Violation

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in one or more of the following actions, at the sole discretion of THRY ARCHIVE LLC:

  • Warning: A written notice identifying the violation and requesting corrective action.
  • Content Removal: Removal of profile content, descriptions, or links that violate this AUP.
  • Suspension: Temporary suspension of your account and/or label listing(s) pending investigation or corrective action. During suspension, your label profile will not be visible in the public directory.
  • Verification Revocation: Removal of verification status without refund if the violation is related to the verification process or the integrity of verified information.
  • Termination: Permanent termination of your account and removal of all associated label listings. Terminated accounts may not be reinstated, and Registry IDs associated with terminated accounts are retired.
  • Legal Action: In severe cases, THRY ARCHIVE LLC reserves the right to pursue legal remedies, including but not limited to injunctive relief and damages.

The severity of the response will be proportional to the nature and severity of the violation. THRY ARCHIVE LLC will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users of actions taken, except where doing so would compromise the security or integrity of the Service.

5. How to Report Abuse

If you believe a user, label, or listing violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

To Report Abuse

When reporting abuse, please include:

  • The name or Registry ID of the label in question.
  • A description of the violation, including specific details and evidence where possible.
  • Your contact information so we can follow up if needed (your information will be kept confidential).

We aim to acknowledge all abuse reports within 2 business days and complete investigations within 10 business days, though complex cases may require additional time.

6. Amendments

THRY ARCHIVE LLC reserves the right to modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
